Born in eastern North Carolina, started learning guitar at age 18. At age 24 started listening to bluegrass music. Bought a dobro at age 24, started learning how to play the dobro at age 29. Played mando with Raleigh group Constant Change in 2003, played dobro with The Gena Britt Band in 04 and 05. Currently playing resophonic guitar with Mark Newton.
