Hi all

I received a Regal resonator today and I'm having trouble identifying what model it is, no serial number on the headstock and can't see anything inside (just looked through the soundholes, haven't taken it apart)

Cheers

I'm following up on the Facebook post you wrote about the guitar where I replied that it looks like an RD-30.

I'm guessing like youthe three holes, in this case parallel, could be an RD-65, as listed below in an Elderly sales ad. But who really knows if that is accurate?

With the exception of the squareneck RD-52 Black Lightning, a model that's easy to remember, particularly here on the hangout where the majority are lap style players, modern era Regal resos with that name revived by Saga Music in 1987 don't have an online presence in terms of cataloging model numbers, etc.

It's another in a long line of Reso guitars imported from Asia and sometimes you can't tell one brand from another except for the decal on the headstock.

It's weird that there is no serial number on the back of the headstock - they usually have one.

Your best bet to try to i.d. the guitar is to contact Saga Music near San Francisco. That may or may not help if it's an older model.
