Hi everyone, Just wanted to share some photos of my first build from some scraps I had left over from my cabinet and furniture making days. Turned out not to bad for only using 3A material. I have some really nice 5A quilted maple, planned for some future builds. Turns out I enjoyed making this so much that I'm going to make a few to see if I can sell them. Got a curly maple in the works now that I will be selling, about half done. Turns out I'm better a building them then playing them I think. Let me know what you think!
Looks great Eddy!
For whatever reason, sometimes photographing guitars can be a little difficult. I don't know the correct term - there can be a bit of "distortion." In viewing the second photo (top right) it's looks like the center brace on the back that runs the length of the guitar body looks slightly off, but the other photo of the guitar lying on its back showing the inside, the brace looks centered.
Weird.
Thanks fellows,
Dan it is my own design, just made up my own template for the body shape and from that I built a side bender and a mold. The rest I just done out of my head. I don’t really have that many tools, so a lot of hand work. I’m hoping to build a couple and sell them to get some tools to make it a little easier. My biggest problem now is finding the money to put the parts on them. Because I’m in Canada and all the parts have to come from the USA it’s crazy the cost. It will cost me close to a grand just for the parts to put on it. Unfortunately we don’t make anything in this country.
