I see quite a few requests & questions about starter dobros (squarenecks) on this site.
Today I stopped in Acoustic Music in Salt Lake City (nice small acoustic guitar store with top shelf instruments) and in the back room he had a Wechter squareneck reso in great shape for $700. It’s the f-hole model. Good starter. They are on 400 south in SLC. Look them up if interested.
