Well members of the Resonation,
I've done lesson two. Probably would have learned a bunch more if I wasn't so tired, but thems the breaks. Bob mentioned a cool way of looking at playing the Dobro - like singing. All the notes are open and fluid. I have learned so much in such a short period of time.
The big stumbling block I'm finding is no frets and picking. I'm so used to flat pick and RAWK posturing that this is so unusual to actually use all my fingers at once... ...well most of my fingers. I have found the less is more application of playing really works. Like with learning all new instruments I have to discipline myself to slow down and play each note. Key an eye, or ear on my timing and really pay attention to finding that sweet spot above the fret. Practise is all that going to help that come together.
I still really tired, actually, I'm a walking zombie so I'm gonna say off to the fart sack with me kids...
Isn't life good?

Well, I'm a guy who has been involved in the music industry in one way or another for over 30 years. As a musician, teacher, performer, adviser, product representative/ specialist (Company sales rep.), and all around musical sponge. I don't really have a specific genre of music that is "me". That's not to say I like all music because I don't. If the music is well crafted, honest, and comes from the heart, you can pretty much guarantee that I’ll like it. It's all about the giggle for me and if I'm not having fun - forget it! Life is too short not to enjoy what you do, so that's what I do. As I read on a tee shirt once, “Life is to short to drink bad wine… (front) …and listen to shitty music! (Back). That pretty much sums me up. Now you know a little about me….
