My Instruments:
All types of guitars. Via electrics and specialized software I can use my standard electrics with MIDI, so technically I can play any instrument including any synth voicing and entirely imaginary instruments. I have a Johnson clone of a Dobro Hound Dog and a steel body Fender FR-48.
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
My favorites are composers who use both instruments and technology competently to produce unique sounds and music: (1) Jean-Michel Jarre, (2) Mike Oldfield, (3) Vangelis. I do, however, have a powerful connection with Henry "Rufe" Johnson, The Union County Flash.

I started playing the same year I started working in my dad's TV shop, 1962. I was eight. I got myself a job at another shop the same year I wrote and recorded my first song.1968. I left electronics to join the military, and left that for college. I became a cognitive neuroscientist specializing in brain imaging and functional analyses of neural signals, working at National Institutes of Health and the dept. of psychiatry at Yale Medial School. In the last 5 years I mostly retired from that, met and married my Second Childhood Sweetheart, and we moved to southwest Virginia to play music on The Crooked Road.
