This music underscores early New Zealand 20'th century in the docco Ka Mate Played on the PBSM reso and Guitar ( Maaka McGregor). We sat around a single tube mic putting down ideas and the recordings eventually made it into the final soundtrack. with a little "old sound" audio mix

Composed for the documentary Ka Mate This music recreates the melodic moves and feel of early md 20th century New Zealand Music The influences are taken from the lap steel players and the moves and feel of traditional Maori melody that has such a huge influence in New Zealand and Pacifica music, I recorded this using guitar, ukulele and the Royal ( Commodore) Lap Steel. The Lap Steel was made in New Zealand by Bunny Milne in the 1930's so to play it in the style of the era in which it was made , for me really adds something to the tune
