Notes: I took a few liberties in finding notes for this song. You all might find better chords for the turnaround "...do I look alright..." but this one works for me for now.

Notes: My first attempt at posting a tab and first use of TablEdit. As my note on the last measure indicates, I am not yet well versed in TableEdit. Gordon Lightfoot is a great song writer.

Because He Lives

Genre: Traditional  Key: D  Tuning: DADF#AD (Open D)  Difficulty: Intermediate
Posted by krw2dbw, updated: 3/12/2020
Download: JPEG | JPEG

Notes: I play Resophonic and Lap Steel with slightly raised nuts. However, not so high as to make fretting behind the slide difficult.

Power In the Blood

Genre: Traditional  Key: D  Tuning: DADF#AD (Open D)  Difficulty: Intermediate
Posted by krw2dbw, updated: 2/8/2020
Download: JPEG

Notes: On my Lap Steel and Duolian copy I play with a slightly raised nut so I can fret behind the bar. In lower positions I can produce minors by fretting the third string behind the bar. Some sevenths can be achieved.

Yesterday

Notes: Just wanted to see if I could figure out a decent arrangement for solo dobro. I ended up using the drop E tuning I stole from Greg Booth (Low to high strings are EBDGBD) - standard GBDGBD except lower the sixth string to E) as it gave me some chords I just couldn't get otherwise. It also gave me a chance to use TuxGuitar to create the tab which was new to me. I've included a PDF and a TuxGuitar file converted to GuitarPro 5 format. I'll post an MP3 of the tune as soon as I get chance to record it.

Notes: this is an Old Camp Song I heard on a Mississippi John Hurt Recording. It utilizes Stride Piano Style Thumb as well as Travis picking where I lose the Melody line. Any of the Stride thumb technique can be syncopated instead of playing on the Quarter Note.

Notes: This is being submitted as an MYR file from the Melody Assistant Program by Myriad. You can submit your tablature and it selects the Standard Notation for you. I haven't discovered how to notate a slide up to or down from a particular note.

Notes: A very nice waltz from Toots Thielemans. I've always wanted to learn this catchy tune, so his passing yesterday made me get to it.

Albatross

Genre: Jazz/Blues  Key: E  Tuning: GBDGBD (Standard Open G)  Difficulty: Intermediate

Notes: I tried to get so close to Jerry's playing, as I could, but it is of course not excacty the same. The ending I made my own version, but it works. There is fiddle and guitar break and backing too.

Download: TABLEDIT

Notes: I have added some fills in case you play without backing. All slides over more than one fret sounds a little wrong. You can "unslide" them to get the right timing - as long as YOU still slide.
